The Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort has appointed Niels Stuedemann as its new general manager, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Stuedemann brings more than 30 years of international hospitality experience, with a career spanning the United States, Canada and multiple destinations across the Caribbean. His background includes leadership roles at luxury independent hotels, boutique properties and major global brands.

He has extensive experience with Marriott International, having overseen properties across the Autograph Collection, Marriott Hotels and AC by Marriott portfolios. Most recently, Stuedemann led The BRIX, Autograph Collection from pre-opening through full launch. The hotel was named Marriott’s 2023 Hotel of the Year for the Caribbean and Latin America.

“Stepping into this role is an exciting opportunity,” Stuedemann said in a statement. “Curaçao Marriott Beach Resort already has a strong presence in the region, and I’m eager to build on that momentum by strengthening our operational performance, deepening community relationships, and elevating the guest journey at every touchpoint.”

The resort is located five minutes from Curaçao’s capital, Willemstad, on six acres of oceanfront property with direct beach access. Amenities include two pools, six dining concepts, meetings and events space, an onsite dive shop, a kids club and a fitness center.
