WestJet Is Adding More Nonstop Flights to the Caribbean Next Summer

WestJet is expanding its summer Caribbean network in 2026 with a slate of new seasonal routes from major Canadian cities, adding fresh nonstop access to destinations in the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Mexico.
From Montreal, the airline will introduce once-weekly summer service to both Puerto Plata and Samaná. The additions strengthen Montreal’s position as a key Canadian gateway to the Dominican Republic, with Samaná in particular remaining one of the country’s more distinctive beach destinations, known for its quieter resorts and natural landscape.
Toronto is also getting new Caribbean service, with WestJet set to launch a once-weekly summer flight to Puerto Plata. The route adds capacity to one of the Dominican Republic’s most established resort regions, home to a growing mix of all-inclusive and boutique properties.
In Quebec, WestJet will add weekly seasonal service from Quebec City to Cayo Coco, continuing the airline’s focus on leisure routes from secondary Canadian markets. Cayo Coco remains a popular choice for Canadian travelers, particularly for all-inclusive beach vacations.
The airline is also expanding sun service from Western Canada, with a new once-weekly summer flight from Winnipeg to Cancun. Cancun continues to be one of the strongest Caribbean and Mexico markets for Canadian outbound travel, supported by a wide range of resorts and airlift connections.
All five routes are scheduled to operate once weekly during the summer 2026 season. The new services are part of WestJet’s broader seasonal network planning and reflect continued demand for Caribbean and warm-weather destinations among Canadian travelers.
