MSC World Atlantic Is Coming to Port Canaveral Next Year
MSC Cruises has opened sales for its newest World Class ship, MSC World Atlantic, marking a major expansion for the line in Central Florida. The ship will sail year-round from Port Canaveral beginning Nov. 13, 2027, offering alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries that include Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve in The Bahamas.
It’s another big boost for what is now the busiest cruise port in the world.
The announcement signals a deeper commitment to the U.S. market for MSC Cruises, pairing the line’s European design sensibility with features tailored for North American travelers. It also gives Port Canaveral one of the largest and most advanced ships in the Caribbean cruise market.
A Major Ship With a Caribbean Focus
As the fourth vessel in MSC Cruises’ World Class series, MSC World Atlantic is designed around the idea of cultural crossover — European style meeting American comfort — across more than 400,000 square feet of public space. The ship will feature seven onboard districts, each with its own atmosphere, dining concepts and entertainment.
More than 30 bars, restaurants and lounges are planned, spanning everything from Italian dining to Japanese teppanyaki and American steakhouse classics. The ship builds on the design language introduced on MSC World Europa and MSC World America, while adding new venues debuting for the first time in the United States.
New Venues Making Their Debut
One of the most anticipated additions is Viva La Musica, a new bar concept celebrating Latin culture with live music, salsa dancing and handcrafted cocktails. The venue is designed as a high-energy nightlife space that reflects the cultural influence of the Caribbean and Latin America.
Another new arrival for U.S. sailings is The Clubhouse, a retro-inspired social space that shifts throughout the day. It is designed to bring families together with interactive games and activities, then transform into a lively entertainment venue in the evening.
The Signature Experiences On Board
MSC World Atlantic will feature the cruise line’s exclusive MSC Yacht Club, a private “ship within a ship” with 144 suites, keycard-only access, a dedicated restaurant and lounge, a private pool and sun deck, and twenty-four-hour concierge service. Yacht Club guests will also enjoy VIP amenities at Ocean Cay, including access to Ocean House and nearby private beaches.
Families will find a strong focus on active, outdoor experiences in The Harbour, an open-air park with waterslides, splash zones and a ropes course. The ship will also include Cliffhanger, an over-water swing that lifts guests 160 feet above the ocean, first introduced on MSC World America.
The onboard lineup is rounded out by the Doremiland Kids Club, featuring expanded LEGO spaces and programming for children and teens, the two-deck Panorama Lounge with immersive LED shows, and the MSC Aurea Spa, which includes one of the largest thermal areas in the fleet along with saunas, steam rooms, snow rooms and ocean-view fitness facilities.
Sailing From Port Canaveral
The ship will operate alternating seven-night itineraries. Eastern Caribbean cruises will call on Grand Turk, Puerto Plata, Nassau and Ocean Cay. Western Caribbean sailings will include Costa Maya and Cozumel, along with Nassau and Ocean Cay.
From MSC Cruises’ perspective, the new ship builds directly on what has worked for its World Class vessels while expanding the onboard experience. One executive said Port Canaveral guests have embraced the line’s blend of European style and American comfort, and that the new ship introduces fresh spaces and entertainment designed specifically for Caribbean getaways.
Port Canaveral leadership also emphasized the significance of the homeport choice, noting that MSC Cruises’ decision to base its newest and largest ship in Central Florida underscores confidence in the U.S. cruise market and the port’s long-term growth.
With bookings now open, MSC World Atlantic is the next step in MSC’s major push into the Caribbean, following World America this year.
