Beaches Negril Is Open Again in Jamaica

Beaches Negril is the island's top family resort.

The morning began with the wide, open light that Negril is famous for. As families arrived at the newly reopened all-inclusive Beaches Negril, the shoreline was already glowing, the sea glass-blue and steady, and the breeze moving through the palms in slow, warm currents.

Seven Mile Beach has always been a place where time seems to stretch, and with the resort’s return, that sense of ease has come back into full view.

When you walk through the gates now, you feel the immediate lift that happens only in Negril. The sand feels cool where the shade falls across it. The sound of the waterpark rises from the center of the property, blending with the hush of waves just a few steps away. Couples settle into their beachfront loungers. Kids dart toward the shoreline. The atmosphere has the unmistakable tone of a place that is ready for families again, wide awake and fully in motion.

The reopening arrives at a moment when Jamaica is seeing strong travel demand and a renewed flow of visitors to the west coast. Beaches Negril’s team had spent the final days preparing the property in near-constant motion, restoring its restaurants, refreshing guest areas, and ensuring that arrivals today would feel seamless.

As SRI Executive Chairman Adam Stewart shared during the resort’s return, Jamaica continues to shine because travelers find something familiar and uplifting the moment they step onto this beach. He spoke of the optimism he sees every day on island, from the taxi drivers greeting guests at the airport to the room attendants ready to welcome returning families.

Beaches Negril’s comeback reflects that spirit. The resort stands once again with its bright façades, its long curve of shoreline, its calm morning sea perfect for paddling and snorkeling. Visitors arriving this week will find the familiar comforts that made the resort a favorite, paired with the unmistakable ease that defines Negril itself.

The opening came as Sandals Dunn’s River, in nearby Ocho Rios, also opened again to visitors, as we reported.
