Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau has named hospitality veteran Shyam Lalu as its new General Manager, bringing more than 15 years of leadership experience across major global brands to one of The Bahamas’ marquee resorts.

Lalu, a Southern California native and graduate of the Collins College of Hospitality Management at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, joins the resort with a broad background in hotel operations, food and beverage management, and team development. His early career included roles in accounting, front desk operations, and culinary management before progressing into leadership positions with Hyatt, The Ritz-Carlton, and Hilton.

At Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau, Lalu will oversee day-to-day operations across guest services, accommodations, food and beverage, entertainment, and staff training. He said his leadership approach is focused on supporting every member of the resort team to elevate the overall guest experience.

“My top responsibility is to support everyone in the hotel — from department leaders all the way to our cooks, bussers, and room attendants,” Lalu said. “My goal is to ensure guests have a fantastic and memorable stay, while also helping our team grow and reach the next level.”

Lalu’s plans for 2026 center on expanding the resort’s entertainment and activity offerings for both overnight guests and day visitors, including those enjoying Fins Up Waterpark, the St. Somewhere Spa, and the resort’s collection of dining concepts. He is also working closely with the culinary team to refresh menus property-wide, from the signature dishes at JWB Steak and Seafood to the casual, locally inspired offerings at Vacation Café.

Community engagement will be another major focus for Lalu, who aims to deepen the resort’s charitable contributions and strengthen partnerships with local organizations across Nassau and the wider Caribbean.

“We’re thrilled to have someone with Shyam’s experience and insight joining us at Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau,” said Shirlen Godet, the resort’s Marketing Manager. “His impressive background, leadership style, and genuine enthusiasm for hospitality make him an incredible asset to our team and to our guests.”

Before joining Margaritaville Beach Resort Nassau, Lalu served as General Manager within Aimbridge Hospitality’s portfolio in Dallas and Los Angeles, following senior food and beverage leadership roles at Amara Resort and Spa in Sedona, The Ritz-Carlton Maui, and The Ritz-Carlton Laguna Niguel.
