There’s a New Way to Fly Nonstop From Toronto to Nassau This Winter
Porter Airlines has launched new roundtrip service between Toronto Pearson International Airport and Nassau, expanding the carrier’s growing winter network to major sun destinations across the region.
The inaugural flight touched down today in The Bahamas, marking the start of a broader push into southern leisure markets that also includes new routes to Mexico, Costa Rica and the Cayman Islands.
The Toronto–Nassau route begins with seasonal service and increases to daily flights on Dec. 12. Porter will also add new nonstop service from Ottawa starting Dec. 13, followed by Montreal on Feb. 5, giving more Canadian travelers direct access to Nassau and its celebrated blend of beaches, culture and cuisine.
All flights are operated on Porter’s Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, a 132-seat jet with a two-by-two cabin layout — meaning no middle seats for any passenger. Travelers can also take advantage of fast, free WiFi across the fleet.
Porter continues to lean into its elevated economy model, which has defined the airline since its launch in 2006. Every passenger receives complimentary beer and wine served in glassware along with premium Canadian snacks. The carrier’s PorterReserve fare includes added flexibility, priority check-in and boarding, two checked bags and extra-legroom seating at the front of the cabin. Freshly prepared meals and premium cocktails are also available, and can be purchased à la carte when booking PorterClassic fares.
VIPorter loyalty members can redeem points for travel to sun destinations for as little as 10,000 points each way, supporting the airline’s expanding winter footprint across Mexico, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Florida, Arizona and California.
“Porter is now the better way of getting to The Bahamas,” said Edmond Eldebs, senior vice president and chief commercial officer. “Our distinct approach to service, with genuine, warm hospitality, means that passengers can enter vacation mode long before landing in Nassau. This is the first of multiple routes that we’re launching this season that will bring Canada and The Bahamas closer together.”
The expanded service positions Porter as a competitive new option for Canadian travelers seeking direct, mid-winter access to Bahamian sunshine.
