Four Seasons Just Opened Its New Puerto Rico Resort After a $40 Million Reimagining

The first guests began arriving this week to a transformed coastline just outside San Juan, where the newly refurbished Four Seasons Resort and Residences Puerto Rico has officially opened its doors after a $40 million Four Seasons-ification.

The reveal comes after a reimagining of what was previously Marriott’s St. Regis Bahia Beach resort, which first opened in 2010.

The 139-room resort sits within a private 483-acre reserve, bordered by two additional sanctuaries, giving guests immediate access to miles of trails, waterways and wildlife.

A Luxury Nature Resort

The scale of the natural environment here sets the tone for the entire stay. Guests can explore more than seven miles of trails and waterways, either on their own or with expert naturalists who highlight the local flora, birdlife and the leatherback sea turtles that nest on the beach each spring and summer. Conservation is built into the resort’s foundation, with an on-site animal sanctuary, a pet shelter and community education programs that guests can support during their visit. The entire property sits within an Audubon-recognized landscape, and the commitment to sustainability is noticeable everywhere.

A Taste of Puerto Rico

This season marks the debut of new culinary concepts led by Executive Chef Victor Rosado, whose menu inspiration stretches back to childhood memories in Puerto Rico and professional stints with Jean-Georges Vongerichten and José Andrés. You can experience a spectrum of flavors across ten dining and bar venues. El Bembe, the new lobby lounge, centers on Puerto Rican rums, live music and street-snack interpretations served with a sense of place. Paros brings Mediterranean flavors with local seafood and herbs from the resort’s organic garden. Seagrapes leans into open-air coastal cooking, while Turtle’s Nest and Sand Dollar elevate beachside dining.
