Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste is expanding its presence in the Caribbean with a new agreement to acquire the equity interest in Companhia de Participações em Concessões, a move that will give the company a greater stake in Curaçao International Airport, one of the region’s most important tourism gateways.

The transaction is valued at $936 million and is expected to close in the first half of 2026.

CPC’s portfolio includes 20 airports across Latin America and the Caribbean, but Curaçao is a standout for the region — a growing leisure destination with new hotel openings, rising arrivals and a steadily expanding route map. The acquisition strengthens ASUR’s position on the island and adds Curaçao to one of the most diverse airport networks in the hemisphere.

ASUR already has a significant footprint in the Caribbean. The company operates Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the busiest airport in the Caribbean, along with airports in CancúnCozumel, and Huatulco, all of which supply major airlift into Caribbean destinations. ASUR also manages airports in Colombia, giving it a broad presence across the region’s key air corridors.

With the addition of Curaçao, ASUR continues to build a larger role in Caribbean air travel, particularly at a time when demand for flights and new routes across the region remains strong. The company said the expanded portfolio will add more than 45 million passengers to its network, supporting long-term growth in tourism and air connectivity.

The deal is expected to close next year following regulatory approvals. For Curaçao, it represents another vote of confidence in an island whose tourism sector has been steadily accelerating — and a sign of the continued investment flowing into Caribbean aviation.
