Grenada’s tourism leadership spent three days on the sister isles of Carriacou and Petite Martinique this past week, advancing a series of strategic workshops aimed at strengthening the islands’ long-term tourism infrastructure. The sessions were led by Grenada Tourism Authority Chief Executive Officer Stacey Liburd, Chief Marketing Officer Tornia Charles, and Quality Assurance Manager Keron Moore.

The delegation conducted a mix of presentations, training modules, and on-the-ground meetings designed to support sustainable development and improve market readiness. A strategic presentation outlined how Carriacou and Petite Martinique will continue to integrate into Grenada’s national tourism framework, followed by workshops on social media best practices, service standards, and core marketing skills for local operators.

One of the central components of the visit was a stakeholder engagement tour on Petite Martinique, where the team met with community members and business owners to assess tourism assets, identify operational challenges, and discuss opportunities for investment and training. The visit offered a detailed look at the day-to-day needs of the hospitality sector on the smaller islands and how those needs fit into broader national planning.

“The development of Carriacou and Petite Martinique is fundamental to Grenada’s overall tourism growth,” said Chief Executive Officer Stacey Liburd. “These sessions are about listening, sharing practical tools, and creating sustainable pathways that empower our industry partners on every island to thrive.”

Local participants said the workshops provided substantive value, noting both the quality of the presentations and the opportunity for direct dialogue with GTA officials.

The Grenada Tourism Authority said it planned to continue similar engagement initiatives across the tri-island state as it works to strengthen capacity, elevate service delivery, and support long-term sustainable tourism growth.

Carriacou in particular has been seeing new travel buzz of late, with some of the most spectacular beaches in the Caribbean and a thriving sailing scene.
