Curaçao continued its strong tourism momentum in October, posting a 15 percent increase in stayover arrivals compared to the same month last year. The island welcomed 61,013 stayover visitors for the month, according to new data provided by the Curaçao Tourist Board to Caribbean Journal.

The Dutch Caribbean hotspot has been one of the biggest success stories in Caribbean tourism in the last few years.

Growth was driven by Curaçao’s three largest long-haul regions: North America, South America and Europe. North American arrivals were up 23 percent, South America increased by 16 percent and Europe rose by 12 percent year-over-year. The Caribbean region was the only segment to decline, down 5 percent compared to October 2024.

Europe remained Curaçao’s largest source region, delivering 26,576 visitors in October. North America followed with 17,554 visitors, while South America contributed 12,918. Visitors across all markets stayed an average of eight nights.

The Netherlands led all individual markets with 22,128 visitors, a 10 percent increase over last October. Dutch travelers stayed an average of nearly 11 nights. The United States was the second-largest market, contributing 15,315 visitors — up 22 percent — with an average stay of 5.6 nights. Colombia ranked third with 4,497 visitors, a 15 percent increase and an average stay of just over five nights.

Curaçao’s year-to-date performance from January through October also shows sustained growth. The island recorded 1,324,557 total visitors across all segments, including 642,157 stayover arrivals, 37,027 day-trippers and 645,373 cruise passengers — a combined nine percent increase compared to the same period in 2024.
