The beloved Club Mobay airport lounge at Montego Bay’s Sangster International Airport is open again, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The legendary airport lounge, named number one airport lounge in the Caribbean multiple times in these pages, is now operating again, in another big step for the rebirth of Jamaica’s tourism sector in the wake of Hurricane Melissa.

“Our doors are open, our smiles are brighter, and the spirit of Jamaica shines stronger than ever,” Club Mobay said in a statement.

“We cleaned, rebuilt and restored every corner,” the company’s aid.

Sangster Airport reopened for commercial operations last week, and Jamaica has launched a nation wide plan to reopen its tourism sector in earnest by mid-December.

That includes the reopening of a number of hotels, from Sandals resorts to the iconic Half Moon, also in Montego Bay.
