JetBlue and United Now Let You Earn and Redeem Miles Across Both Airlines
Travelers loyal to JetBlue and United Airlines now have a new way to make their points go further. The two carriers officially rolled out the first customer benefit from their Blue Sky collaboration, allowing loyalty members to earn and redeem rewards across both airlines’ networks — and potentially boosting the Caribbean, too.
It means that TrueBlue members can now collect and use points on United flights around the world, while MileagePlus members can do the same on JetBlue’s network of leisure destinations. When booking online or through each airline’s app, travelers will now see flights from both carriers displayed side by side — a streamlined way to make points and miles stretch further.
“With reciprocal earning and redemption now available, Blue Sky is officially taking flight,” the airlines said in a joint statement. “We’re excited to give our loyalty members the ability to use the program of their choice when traveling across our complementary networks.”
How It Works
TrueBlue members can enter their loyalty number when booking a United-operated flight through United.com, while MileagePlus members can do the same when booking JetBlue flights at JetBlue.com.
Redemption follows the same pattern: members book directly through their respective airline’s website, choosing the option to search using points or miles.
This new partnership opens up a broader map for travelers — from JetBlue’s Caribbean and leisure destinations to United’s global route network — without having to switch loyalty programs.
More Benefits on the Horizon
The launch is the first step in a phased rollout of joint benefits. In early 2026, travelers will begin to see expanded features including reciprocal perks like priority boarding, extra legroom seating, and same-day flight flexibility. A new revenue booking option will also allow customers to build itineraries on either airline using cash or points.
United’s MileagePlus Travel platform is also slated to transition to JetBlue’s Paisly travel product, expanding options for hotels, rental cars, cruises, and more. And by 2027, JetBlue will support United’s JFK expansion with access to new slots from its Terminal 6.
Together, JetBlue and United say the Blue Sky program is designed to give customers more choice and flexibility, connecting two extensive networks under one rewards experience.
