Belize Is Getting Easier to Reach, With New Flights From New York, Fort Lauderdale, and San Francisco
The rainforest. The reef. The beaches. The flavors (Marie Sharp hot sauce, anyone?). The sound.
Belize is once again strengthening its position as one of the most in-demand destinations in the Americas, with expanded international airlift that makes reaching “the Jewel” easier than ever.
Three new and returning nonstop routes from JetBlue Airways, Spirit Airlines, and United Airlines are set to enhance U.S. access and help sustain the country’s record-breaking tourism momentum.
This November, Spirit Airlines will launch its first-ever flights to Belize, debuting nonstop service from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to Philip S. W. Goldson International Airport. Starting Nov. 21, the route will run three times weekly on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays, offering a budget-friendly gateway for travelers from South Florida and beyond.
From the East Coast, JetBlue is already connecting New York City to Belize with its new year-round nonstop service from John F. Kennedy International Airport. Operating Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, the flight links one of the world’s busiest travel hubs directly to Belize’s coral reefs, rainforests, and Maya heritage sites.
And beginning Dec. 20, United Airlines will bring back its popular seasonal route from San Francisco International Airport to Belize.
Flying once weekly on Saturdays through mid-August 2026, the service gives Northern California travelers a seamless way to reach the Caribbean coast — and connects to United’s extensive global network via San Francisco.
Tourism Minister Anthony Mahler called the routes a milestone in expanding Belize’s international reach.
“From New York to Fort Lauderdale to San Francisco, these routes not only make Belize more accessible for travelers seeking our extraordinary experiences, but they also strengthen our tourism ties and create lasting economic opportunities for our people,” he said.
The boost in airlift comes as Belize continues to attract travelers with its remarkable diversity. Visitors can snorkel along the world’s second-largest barrier reef, trek into lush jungle to discover ancient Maya cities, float through mysterious cave systems, and experience the vibrant living cultures of the Kriol, Maya, and Garifuna communities.
With Spirit, JetBlue, and United expanding their schedules, reaching Belize is more convenient than ever — and for travelers, that means the reef, rainforest, and island magic are just one flight away.
