Cancun Set for Return of Virgin Atlantic Flights From London
Cancun is set to welcome back a major new transatlantic service on Virgin Atlantic, Caribbean Journal has learned.
Beginning Oct. 19, Virgin Atlantic will be running three flights each week between London Heathrow and Cancun International Airport.
The relaunched route is the only nonstop flight between London Heathrow and the Mexican Caribbean hotspot, also opening up service through Virgin’s codeshare partners to regional gateways like Lima and Buenos Aires.
Cancun has been having an up-and-down year for passenger traffic, but the new service should be a boost for an airport that remains one of the busiest in the broader region.
The destination has also been seeing a wave of new resorts, particularly in the all-inclusive space.
