Princess Cruises has officially welcomed the newest member of its fleet. The Star Princess — the second Sphere-Class ship and sister to the award-winning Sun Princess — was delivered at the Fincantieri Shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy.

The handover ceremony, attended by senior executives from Princess and Fincantieri along with local officials, marked the formal transfer of the 177,800-ton, 4,300-guest ship. 

“[This is] a proud moment for Princess as we welcome the new Star Princess to our incredible fleet,” said Gus Antorcha, President of Princess Cruises. “This remarkable vessel is a testament to the innovation and craftsmanship of our long-standing partners at Fincantieri, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to the shipbuilding team for bringing our newest ship to life.”

With 1,600 crew members now preparing to welcome guests, Star Princess will depart for Barcelona ahead of her inaugural 11-day Western Mediterranean sailing on Oct. 4. Following her European debut, the ship will cross the Atlantic for a Caribbean season out of Ft. Lauderdale beginning Nov. 7, 2025, before transiting the Panama Canal en route to her first Alaska season.

The ship features more than 1,500 balcony staterooms and 30 distinct dining and bar venues, along with standout attractions like The Dome, a next-generation relaxation and entertainment space; The Arena, the line’s most technologically advanced theater; and The Piazza, the architectural centerpiece with dramatic curves and floor-to-ceiling windows.

Unique to the Sphere-Class ships is the Sanctuary Collection, an elevated private retreat at sea, complete with an exclusive restaurant, the adults-only Sanctuary Club pool deck, and enhanced amenities designed to set a new standard for luxury cruising. Guests will also find Spellbound by Magic Castle, a speakeasy-style experience developed with Hollywood’s famed Magic Castle.

The delivery marks the 17th vessel in the Princess Cruises fleet.
