How to Fly From Madrid Right to the Dominican Republic’s Best Resort
There’s a new way for European travelers to reach the best resort in the Dominican Republic.
Spanish airline Iberojet, part of Ávoris Corporación, has officially launched a new weekly nonstop route between Madrid and La Romana. The new service began on June 22 and will operate every Sunday through September 7, 2025.
La Romana’s airport is right on the grounds of the legendary Casa de Campo resort, the property we’ve consistently ranked as the number one resort in the Dominican Republic.
The flight connects Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport with La Romana International Airport, one of the Dominican Republic’s key tourism gateways. It is operated on an Airbus A330-300 aircraft with a capacity of 388 passengers.
Marketed through the tour operator Travelplan, the flight is part of a broader offering that includes customizable vacation packages, appealing to both independent travelers and groups seeking turnkey holiday experiences.
“This new route from Iberojet reaffirms the growing confidence that major European travel operators have in La Romana as a complete destination,” said the airport’s management team, which is part of the Central Romana Corporation group. “It also opens new doors to the Spanish market, helping to diversify our tourist arrivals and adding value to our local tourism economy.”
Gustavo Serrano, Ávoris’ director of tour operations, emphasized the long-standing ties between the company and the country. “This route consolidates the relationship of trust and collaboration between Ávoris and the Dominican Republic — a destination we have invested in for decades, and where we continue to expand operations that support mutual growth,” Serrano said.
The launch adds momentum to La Romana’s emergence as a top-tier destination in the Dominican Republic, offering convenient access to Casa de Campo Resort & Villas, spectacular beaches, and cultural excursions.
