This short film gives you a look at one of of all-time-favorite Caribbean beaches: Eagle Beach in Aruba, including the famous breezes that make this such a wonderful place to visit in the summertime.
Heading to the new Iberostar on Eagle Beach? Or maybe you’re thinking about a trip to the just-debuted St. Regis on Palm Beach? It could be an adults-only jaunt to the Boardwalk, one of our favorites on the island. Wherever you’re planning to go in Aruba, if you’re heading from the Empire State, you’re in luck.
We found a rate of just $353 roundtrip from New York John F Kennedy International Airport to Aruba’s Queen Beatrix International Airport right now, according to up-to-date info from Google Flights.
That’s a very attractive rate for the little-over 4.5-hour flight between New York and the Dutch Caribbean hotspot.
JetBlue actually operates three flights a day from JFK to Aruba; typically, the 6:20 AM and 11:15 AM flights are cheaper, with the 7:20 AM flight a little bit pricier at $383 roundtrip.

It also compares favorably with a similar Delta flight from JFK, which comes in at around $493 roundtrip.
Aruba may be closer to the equator, but it’s always home to fresh, cool breezes — that’s a big reason why the island has long been a popular kitesurfing and windsurfing spot. In other words, it’s a great place for a summer vacation in the Caribbean right now.

For me, Aruba is one of the most diverse getways in the region right now, a place that manages to expertly marry an easy-to-roam, safe, explorable place with a constant sense of adventure. That’s true whether you’re venturing out to the old gold mine, lazing under the palapas on Arashi beach or checking out the new, artsy energy in Oranjestad.
Some price info on the hotels I mentioned: the Boardwalk has rooms starting at $521; the new St. Regis has rates at $839 per night; and the new Iberostar (called Joia) starts at $613.
