The Saint Is the Coolest New Boutique Hotel in the US Virgin Islands

By: Guy Britton - June 14, 2025 - 5:13 pm

A fresh wave of style, relaxation, and good energy has arrived in the US Virgin Islands, quietly reshaping the St. John experience. Welcome to The Saint, an adults-only boutique resort where laid-back luxury, wellness, and fun come together just steps from Cruz Bay. This isn’t just a place to stay. It’s a place to reconnect with yourself, your surroundings, and the slower rhythms of island life.

Hidden Oasis, Steps from It All

Located just across from Gallows Point Resort, The Saint strikes the perfect balance between convenience and seclusion. It’s tucked away just enough to feel peaceful and private, yet only a five-minute walk from the center of Cruz Bay and the ferry terminal. If you’re planning to stay close to town for most of your trip, you won’t need to rent a car—everything from shops and restaurants to bars and boat charters is within easy walking distance. For guests who do choose to explore the island by car, each room at The Saint comes with a dedicated parking spot for added convenience.

Accommodations range from affordable single rooms to more spacious suites, all with private patios or balconies. Whether you’re waking up with a coffee under the palms or winding down with a cocktail after sunset, every space has been designed for comfort and connection.

Pool, Day Club, and Relaxing Island Vibes

At the center of The Saint is its show-stopping infinity-edge pool, looking out toward the ocean and surrounded by swaying palms and comfortable loungers. A swim-up bar keeps drinks flowing throughout the day, while shaded pergolas offer the perfect spot to stretch out and settle into vacation mode. Live music fills the pool deck on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays during Poolside Serenade from 1 to 4 p.m., and Fridays bring the magic of sunset fire dancer performances to close out the day.

You’ll need a daypass to access the pool, spa gardens, and wellness classes, which are open to both hotel guests and non-guests. But you don’t need a daypass to enjoy a drink or meal at The Saint Pool Grill or upstairs at Aerial, both of which are open to the public.

To keep the atmosphere relaxed and comfortable for everyone, the hotel says it limits the number of daypasses sold each day. We recommend to reserve your spot in advance, which you can do easily online.

Freq Spa and the New Spa Gardens

The Saint goes beyond relaxation with a full wellness offering at Freq Spa, its signature spa experience. Short for “frequency,” Freq is centered on helping guests reset both mind and body through massage, energy work, and sound healing. You can book a wide range of massage services online, making it easy to plan a moment of calm during any stay or day visit.

Just steps from the spa, the Spa Gardens offer a peaceful outdoor retreat that feels like a natural hot spring, tucked right into the landscape. The space features multiple pools at various temperatures, including a refreshing cold plunge, warm spa pools, and a cascading waterfall. Whether you’re easing into the warmth at sunset or braving the chill, each pool invites you to slow down and soak in the island atmosphere.

Daily wellness classes are included with both overnight stays and daypasses. Guests can join yoga, guided meditation, or take part in Sound Waves, a unique floating sound bath class held in the pool that’s exclusive to The Saint.

Dining With a View at Aerial

Aerial, The Saint’s full-service restaurant, recently opened and is already earning rave reviews. Perched above the pool, it lives up to its name by offering one of the most spectacular restaurant sunset views in the Virgin Islands. The setting is breezy, elevated, and undeniably special. It’s a small, intimate restaurant, so you should make a reservation. Travel tip: the restaurant is open to the public by reservation, and a daypass is not required to dine.

Dinner is served nightly, and brunch is offered every Sunday. The menu focuses on fresh, vibrant island flavors paired with creative cocktails. One of the signature offerings is the Hot Stone Experience, where guests cook their proteins tableside on a sizzling volcanic stone.

The food has bold, balanced flavors, plated in a stunning, creative way, from the first sip to the final bite, and the service is friendly and makes you feel welcome the moment you get here.

As night falls, fire dancer performances on select evenings bring a spark of energy to the scene, transforming an already memorable meal into something truly magical.

The Saint isn’t trying to be the biggest or flashiest resort in the Virgin Islands. It offers something different: a thoughtfully designed experience where every detail supports relaxation, connection, good energy, and island fun. It’s a welcome addition to St John, and it’s the coolest new place to stay in the US Virgin Islands — and it just might be the coolest new hotel in the Caribbean this year.
