The Bahamas Is Partnering With the New York Yankees
The Bahamas has a long baseball tradition. Now, it’s partnering with an iconic Major League Baseball franchise.
Beginning with shortstop Andre Rogers, the Nassau native who was the first Bahamian to play in the Major Leagues when he debuted in 1957, The Bahamas has a strong tradition of baseball excellence — including the biggest Bahamian-born star to play in Majors: Jazz Chisholm, infielder for the New York Yankees.
Now, as part of an innovative new marketing strategy, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism is partnering with the New York Yankees for the rest of the 2025 Major League Baseball season.
The agreement designates The Bahamas as an official partner of the Yankees, one of the most recognized franchises in global sports. It forms part of The Bahamas’ wider strategy to expand its tourism reach and deepen engagement with key visitor markets.
As part of the collaboration, The Bahamas will be featured throughout Yankee Stadium during the season, including on concourse televisions, field-facing LED signage, and digital animations in the Great Hall. The partnership will also include promotional activations across Yankees digital platforms and a fan sweepstakes offering travel opportunities to The Bahamas.
“The New York Yankees represent a global standard of excellence, and we are proud to partner with such an iconic organization,” said Bahamas Tourism Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper. “This partnership allows us to connect directly with Yankees fans and invite them to explore our beautiful islands, vibrant culture, and unmatched experiences.”
The partnership is designed to increase destination awareness in the U.S. market, with a particular focus on leveraging the global influence of the Yankees brand.
“This collaboration provides direct access to one of our most important visitor markets and enables us to showcase the diverse, authentic experiences of our islands to millions of fans throughout the season,” said Latia Duncombe, Director General of Tourism.
Michael J. Tusiani, Senior Vice President of Partnerships for the Yankees, said the organization is “excited to welcome The Bahamas as a partner this season,” citing the “multi-faceted exposure” expected from in-stadium and online promotions.
The initiative follows a series of recent tourism campaigns aimed at growing visitation and highlighting The Bahamas’ position as a premier Caribbean destination.
Chisholm is the second Bahamian-born player to play for the Yankees, along with Antoan Richardson, who is now the first base coach for the New York Mets.
