Lisbon to Montego Bay: Jamaica’s New European Gateway Takes Flight
Montego Bay just got a little closer to Europe.
Starting today, Wednesday, June 4, Jamaica officially welcomes a new weekly nonstop flight connecting Lisbon, Portugal with Montego Bay. Operated by World2Fly, the service marks a major milestone in Jamaica’s growing push to deepen ties with Continental Europe.
The inaugural flight, which arrived on June 4, was fully booked—an early sign of strong demand from European travelers seeking direct access to Jamaica’s north coast.
The new service adds momentum to the island’s expanding international airlift. It’s also a first: this is the only nonstop route currently connecting Portugal to Jamaica, and it’s operating on Airbus A350 flights.
Operated once weekly, the flight is expected to bring a consistent stream of new visitors to Montego Bay during the summer season, strengthening the island’s position as one of the Caribbean’s most connected destinations.
World2Fly has just a handful of Caribbean destinations, including Cuba and the Dominican Republic.
Jamaica is its first destination in the English-speaking Caribbean.
The new service comes as Jamaica is seeing strong growth in travel from the European continent.
