Marriott Has as New Hotel Brand, And It’s In Talks to Bring it to the Caribbean
Marriott has a new hotel brand, and it could be coming to the Caribbean.
The new brand is called Series by Marriott, and it’s a collection brand for the midscale and upscale lodging segments, according to the company.
The idea is to “offer guests comfortable stays in more places and provide regional owners access to the benefits of Marriott’s platforms,” according to a Marriott statement obtained by Caribbean Journal.
Guests at Series by Marriott hotels will be able to use their Bonvoy points for stays; but the hotels will “maintain their portfolios independent identity.”
The hotels themselves will have “functional” public spaces; “streamlined” guest rooms with a focus on cleanliness and rest; and “market-based” decisions for amenities.
Think of Series as Autograph Collection hotels but for a lower market tier.
Series will be kicking off with a hotel portfolio in India; but the company confirmed that it was in “active discussions” with hotel owners in, among other markets, the Caribbean.
Marriott has been adding several new brands in recent years, including CityExpress, which has already announced its first two regional hotels in the works in Nicaragua.
