Los Cabos’ Newest Hotel Is “A Love Letter to Baja,” With a Rooftop Pool and a Wellness Center
Beaches. Archways. Marlin. Margaritas. Cabo San Lucas continues to draw travelers with its swimmable shores, booming culinary scene, high-end resorts, and thriving marina district. And now it’s getting another new hotel.
Mexico Grand Hotels is adding a new property to its Cabo San Lucas portfolio this fall with the debut of Kadún, a 110-room boutique hotel set just steps from El Médano Beach and the city’s Marina, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The new hotel, which is slated to open in time for the 2025 high season, is rooted in the natural and cultural heritage of Baja California Sur, offering what the company calls a “refined yet grounded” hospitality experience.
The name “Kadún” comes from the language of the Pericú, the region’s Indigenous inhabitants, and refers to the cardón cactus—an iconic desert plant native to the Baja peninsula.

“Kadún is more than a new addition to our portfolio, it’s a love letter to Baja,” said Gabriel Ibarra Macías, Sales and Marketing Director at Mexico Grand Hotels, in a statement provided to Caribbean Journal. “We wanted to create a place where guests could feel Cabo’s energy just outside the door, but retreat to something serene, grounded, and inspired by the land’s story.”
Design at the hotel draws from contemporary Mexican casona architecture, with interiors that blend organic elements and clean lines. Rooms will include standard and deluxe accommodations, as well as larger suites with kitchenettes, private terraces, and outdoor jacuzzis. Locally sourced materials and a neutral palette aim to connect guests to the surrounding environment.
Kadún will feature a rooftop pool and sundeck, a full-service spa and wellness center, and multiple food and beverage concepts—including a café and a signature restaurant spotlighting regional ingredients. There will also be a rooftop lounge with panoramic views, a flexible meeting space, and services for families and longer-stay travelers, including babysitting and on-site programming.
Guests at Kadún will also get access to the sister properties within the Mexico Grand Hotels portfolio, including Vista Encantada Spa Resort & Residences, Hacienda Encantada Resort & Residences, and Marina Fiesta Resortand& Spa.
The hotel is located in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, offering close proximity to the destination’s beaches, dining, and nightlife.
The hotel is not yet taking bookings, however.
It’s the latest in a string of exciting new properties in Los Cabos, including a just-announced project under the luxe Raffles brand that will be the company’s first Mexico hotel.
