It’s always been one of the best-value resorts in the Cayman Islands: the Sunshine Suites resort.

Now the 132-suite resort is getting a rebrand, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The new identity? The property will be renamed The Sunshine Hotel and Suites, it was revealed during this week’s Caribbean Travel Marketplace conference in Antigua.

The resort is currently in the middle of a “revitalization” of its suites, while adding upgrades to the property’s pool, its lobby and the popular Sunshine Grill.

So what’s the timeframe? The new-look rooms are slated to be available by the summer, with work on the pool, lobby and grill to continue through the summer of this year.

It’s a “reimagined haven,” according to the property, which gives guests exclusive access to its sister property across the street, on Seven Mile Beach, including full access to beach loungers, pool, and entertainment.

What won’t be changing? The resort’s beloved customer service and prime location less than 700 feet from the Cayman Islands’ most famous beach.

So what about prices? Right now, you can book a studio suite with a king bed for just $274 per night – that includes all fees. Rooms come with a kitchenette that gives you a microwave, a full-size fridge, toaster and a coffeemaker, along with a two-seat dining table.

The revamp comes as the Cayman Islands is seeing steady growth in tourism so far in 2025.
