Cancun Is Delta’s Top Caribbean Destination for Summer 2025, According to Traveler Searches
As travelers look ahead to summer getaways, Cancun has emerged as the top Caribbean destination for Delta Air Lines customers, according to new data released by the airline.
In its third annual list of most-searched international destinations, Delta placed Cancun at #4 overall worldwide—trailing only the European trio of London, Paris, and Rome.
The rankings are based on flight search activity on Delta.com and the Fly Delta App in the lead-up to Memorial Day, capturing the cities most on travelers’ minds heading into summer 2025.
While global cities like Paris saw a 16 percent increase in searches and Tokyo jumped from #7 to #6 thanks to a 54 percent year-over-year surge, Cancun’s continued high ranking signals the enduring appeal of the Mexican Caribbean.
With its world-famous beaches, luxury resorts, and easy access from major U.S. gateways, Cancun remains a cornerstone of Delta’s Caribbean network—and a top choice for sun-seeking travelers this summer.
The news comes ahead of another route launch for Delta to Cancun, with plans for a new flight from Austin (a growing Caribbean source market) to Cancun beginning Dec. 20.
Also that day, Delta is launching once-weekly flights for the season from US cities including Indianapolis, Nashville and Kansas City to Cancun.
Delta also flies to Tulum Airport, the newest airport in the Riviera Maya, with year-round flights out of Atlanta and just-launched service from Minneapolis late last year.
