Belize City’s iconic hotel first debuted back in 1953. Now, after a total transformation that concluded last year, it’s rediscovered its mid-century glory with a modern look.
Now the Fort George, the signature place to stay in Belize City has just gotten bigger.
The hotel has unveiled 30 new Sea View Premium King Rooms, which have ocean views, floor-to-ceiling windows and what the hotel calls “spa style bathrooms.”
The addition comes after the hotel relaunched back in 2024, starting with 34 rooms and suites, along with an eatery called Treehouse, a spa and a gym (along with a plunge pool).

It’s part of the “evolution” of the hotel, general manager Edison Trapp told Caribbean Journal.
It’s a hotel that is the top accommodation option in Belize City, in our view.
The idea, Trapp said, is to “immerse visitors in both luxury and a true sense of place,” he said.
So what about prices? The rooms at the Fort George are a great value, with prices starting at just $229 per night, according to the hotel’s website. For a bigger two-bedroom penthouse suite, rates are $524 per night right now.

Are you heading to Belize City? Most major carriers fly to the hotspot on the Caribbean coast of Central America, a country which has seen some of the biggest tourism growth in the region in the least year.
You can fly American Airlines from Miami for about $381 roundtrip in the main cabin, for example.
