Barbados Is Getting a New Nonstop Route From Europe
It’s a destination of choice for many British travelers, and an increasing hotspot for Americans. And now the island of Barbados is getting a lift from another major source market: continental Europe.
Dutch carrier KLM is launching nonstop flights between Amsterdam Schiphol and Barbados, with plans to kick off service on Oct. 26, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The new route will be running three times per week, with service on Sundays, Thursdays and Tuesdays. (The flight will be continuing on to another increasingly important regional destination, Guyana).

KLM is launching its new Guyana flights in June, with a June 4 start date, as Caribbean Journal previously reported.
What about costs? Flights round-trip between Amtsterdam and Barbados are running around $1,229.90, according to KLM’s website. That gets you a “standard” fare on the airline.
