Why This is the Caribbean’s Top Hotel Investment Conference
Deals. Networking. Trends. Outlooks. There’s no more essential Caribbean hotel gathering than the ALIS CALA conference, which returns to Coral Gables, Fla. later this month.
The newly-rebranded ALIS CALA (which used to be a pair of conferences called CHRIS and HOLA, runs April 29 to May 1 at the Loews Coral Gables Hotel in greater Miami.
The event brings together investors, owners, developers, tourism officials and experts for a look at the hospitality investment landscape in the Caribbean.
This year’s broader regional focus (with the combination of CHRIS and the Latin America-focused HOLA) means an even deeper look at the market.

The calendar includes a number of networking events, breakout sessions on areas like capital, all-inclusive and aviation’ and deep dives into investor sentiment, assent management and new opportunities.
ALIS CALA also offers awards, including the Development of the Year and the Transaction of the Year Award.
This year’s event will also be conferring the Lifetime Achievement Award for Luis Barrios of Hotels City Express and Norte19 Promotora de Hoteles.
“Our mission is to create one event that best serves the hotel-investment communities throughout the Caribbean and Latin America regions as they continue to evolve and feed off mutual interests that create lucrative cross-border and inter-regional opportunities,” said Jeff Higley, President of The BHN Group. “The collective power of the investment and development opportunities throughout these regions rivals that of any geographic area in the world. The approach of the ALIS CALA programming and networking platforms will facilitate localized and regional content that produce more free-flowing conversations and connections to further enable extended collaboration and results.”
