St Maarten’s New Airport Bar Makes a Mean Ti’ Punch

It's a must for visitors to the airport.

We love St Maarten’s new airport. It’s been quite the process rebuilding things since Irma, and Princess Juliana just put the finishing touches on the project at the end of last year.

The result is a sparkling new Caribbean airport with some terrific shopping options (and a lovely outpost of the Bacchus brand).

But what we love most is its reimagined bar, set at the far corner of the departure terminal near Gate A1.

It’s a friendly, well-run bar with a long counter and a selection of tables reserved for patrons.

But the biggest story is the ti’ punch. Yes, the famous French Caribbean spirit is expertly crafted by the team here, using Martinique’s renowned Rhum HSE, Cafes West Indies brown sugar and just the right proportion of lime.

It’s the perfect expression of the cocktail, simple and wonderful, making the fantastic HSE the star of the show.

It’s the perfect way to hang around for your flight back home. And if you’re a rum lover, it’s pure bliss.
