St Regis’ New Dominican Republic Resort Is Readying for a May Debut
It’s the most highly-anticipated opening of the year in the Dominican Republic: the St. Regis Cap Cana resort, and the beachfront property’s debut is getting close.
The luxury property on Punta Espada in the Cap Cana area of Punta Cana is now taking bookings as early as May 1, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The 200-room property (which also includes a residential component) is one of a growing number of St. Regis-branded resorts in the Caribbean Mexico region, from the just-debuted St. Regis in Aruba to the just-announced St. Regis in Costa Rica (we just wrote about that project’s very cool golf concept by Agustin Piza).
Of course, the biggest amenity is the Jack Nicklaus-designed Punta Espada golf course, one of the best golf courses anywhere in the Caribbean, with several stunning oceanside holes.
So what about prices? You can actually find rates for as low as $636 per night right now on Marriott’s website. That price gets you a superior guest room with a king bed. For a “rooftop” poolside room, the price goes up to about $685 per night.
When it opens, it will join just a handful of ultra-luxe properties in the Punta Cana area, along with the Eden Roc Cap Cana and the Tortuga Bay hotel.
