The Caribbean’s Coolest New Beach Bar Is On a Private Island in Curacao
The Balinese design. The tableside steak tartare. The remarkable service. Curacao’s Baoase Luxury Resort is an outlier even in the world of Caribbean luxury — they do things a bit differently here, and it shows. There’s a reason it’s always been one of our favorite hotels in the Caribbean, and Curacao’s luxury leader.
And now it’s home to a very cool new amenity: the Caribbean’s newest beach bar, which really isn’t a bar at all – it’s actually its own private island. It’s called Bida Beach, and it’s the newest addition to what has long been one of our favorite hotels in the Caribbean.
The new concept is set on a private island right across the beach from Baoase, and it’s more than a beach bar — it’ s more of a club, or a “private sanctuary,” Baoase’s Mirellis Virginia tells Caribbean Journal.

The new Bida Beach, which just made its debut at Baoase just a few months ago, has a broad cocktail menu, accompanied by the high-level cuisine that has always defined the resort (it’s Baoase Culinary Beach Restaurant is a regular member in our list of the 50 Best Restaurants in the Caribbean).
It also comes with dedicated beach butler service, meaning you’ll really be enjoying your own private club for the day.

And while it’s private, it’s not closed off to non-guests (it’s also kid-friendly). If you want to enjoy Bida for the day, you can buy a day pass for $200 per person (which includes a $100 food and beverage credit). Kids are $100 per, with a $50 F&B credit included, too.
That comes with your own chair, a bottle of water, morning and afternoon bites, and access to amenities like water sports and hammocks. The club is open every day until 7 PM in the evening.
It’s yet another reason why Curacao remains one of the most interesting, sophisticated destinations in the Caribbean right now, with a hard-to-match blend of barefoot hip and upscale quality.

If you’re planning a trip to Baosae, you can find rooms for around $1,025 per night for a “loft room” and $1,850 per night for one of the fantastic villas (replete with their own pools).
What about getting to the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao? American Airlines has nonstop flights for $682 roundtrip out of Miami, while you can travel on Delta Air Lines from Atlanta for about $893 in April, according to options from Google Flights.
