The Dominican Republic’s Newest Hotel Is a Residential-Style Retreat With a Rooftop Pool
The centuries-old streets of the Colonial Zone. The vibrant culinary scene. The endless entertainment. There are reasons, after all, why the Dominican Republic’s capital of Santo Domingo has been seeing so much growth in recent years.
That includes new hotels, from the first-ever Kimpton in the country (which opened last year) to a new hotel under the Aston brand.
It’s called Aston Rubi City Suites, and it’s the first-ever Dominican hotel for Asia-based Archipelago.
The new hotel has 179 rooms with a residential layout (meaning full kitchens and dining areas), in a prime location in the Naco area of the capital.
The biggest star, though, is the rooftop oolong, with a cool green-style deck and panoramic views of the city. It’s part of a growing trend of hip rooftops in the capital, like the one at the new Marriott that opened its doors last year, as we reported.
So what about prices? Less than you might think, why rooms as low as $69 per night right now.
