Turks and Caicos has named a new Minister of Tourism, following the British Overseas Territory’s recent elections.
Zhavargo Jolly has been tapped for the role, following the victory of the Progressive National Party.
“Leading the tourism sector is a responsibility I take very seriously,” said Jolly. “I look forward to working with the team at Experience Turks and Caicos to build a sustainable, high-value industry while solidifying our reputation as a premier global destination. In the coming months, I aim to strengthen relationships with stakeholders across the tourism sector, both regionally and in our key source markets.”
Jolly, whose background is in finance and economic development, served as managing director of Turks and Caicos Islands Capital before entering politics. He also has an MBA from the NYU Stern School of Business.
Jolly says his vision for tourism is one of “inclusive growth.”
“The board and staff of Experience Turks and Caicos extend a warm welcome to [Minister] Jolly,” said Wesley Clerveaux, Acting CEO of Experience Turks and Caicos, the destination’s DMO. “As one of the dynamic new members of Cabinet, he brings fresh energy and vision to the industry. We look forward to collaborating with him to advance the sector through innovation, strategic initiatives, and enhanced visitor experiences.”
He succeeds former Tourism Minister Josephine Connolly.
