A New Adults-Only All-Inclusive in Jamaica, With Private Coves, a Jerk Hut and a Diamond Club

By: - March 12th, 2025
The resort is set on a prominent corner of coastline in Jamaica.

Cancun. Antigua. Punta Cana. Barbados. Now, the Royalton CHIC brand is adding another island in the Caribbean: Jamaica, with plans for another new adults-only resort that will be part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.

Blue Diamond Resorts’ new Royalton CHIC Jamaica Paradise Cove will be opening its doors late next year, Caribbean Journal has learned. It’s set at the former Jewel Paradise Cove resort, which was purchased by TUI at the end of December, as Caribbean Journal first reported. It had been previously owned by Playa. (The resort is a joint project by TUI and Royalton).

CHIC is Royalton’s elevated, fun adults-only concept, one that has become popular in three destinations already, with a Barbados one opening soon and now the one on the north coast of Jamaica.

So what do you need to know about it?

Royalton CHIC has become one of the hottest brands in the Caribbean. Above, the brand’s Antigua resort.

The resort will have 345 rooms, all suites, along with Royalton’s Diamond Club rooms, which come with things like butler service and private check-in.

That’s joined by four a la carte eateries, along with a “jerk hut,” a sports bar (something Royalton does very well and that we’ve enjoyed at other Royalton resorts we’ve stayed at) and a buffet.

CHIC is all about entertainment, though, and that will be true at the Runaway Bay resort, with loads of activations, music performances and a “lively social scene” as the company describes it.

It’s yet another member for the fast-growing All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy collection in the Caribbean, which now boasts literally dozens of properties across the region.

So where is it, exactly? Runaway Bay is about an hour from Montego Bay’s airport, and about 40minutes from the newly-relevant Ian Fleming Airport in Ocho Rios, which now has nonstop flights from Miami on American Airlines (starting at about $583 roundtrip, according to Google Flights).

While Royalton hasn’t released prices, you can get a sense from rates at other CHIC-branded properties in the Caribbean. For example, you can book at CHIC in Cancun for about $407 per night, and about $335 per night at the CHIC Punta Cana in April.

If you can’t wait for the new Paradise Cove resort to open, Marriott already has five all-inclusive resorts in Jamaica, all part of its alliance with Royalton, ranging from the Grand Lido resort in Negril (rooms at $647 right now) to the Hideaway at Royalton Blue Waters in Trelawny, part of what we like to call “greater” Montego Bay (rooms at $436).
