It’s the Best-Kept Secret in Grace Bay, and Now Turks and Caicos’ Ports of Call Resort Has a New Look

By: Caitlin Sullivan - March 3, 2025

Grace Bay. It’s the epicenter of tourism in Turks and Caicos, home to one of the world’s best beaches, some terrific restaurants and a wonderful mix of local shops and watering holes. It’s a bustling, beachy town square on the island of Providenciales.

For years, one hotel has been right at the center of it: the Ports of Call Resort, a 98-room resort tucked in the heart of Grace Bay Village, a terrific option for exploring the town (with its own beach access with everything from paddle boards to chair sand umbrellas).

It’s always been one of our favorites in town, for its warm service, laid-back vibes and impressive amenities, for its lovely pool and an unforgettable bar.

And now the Ports of Call is even better.

The resort just completed a wide-ranging $1 million renovation that took two years to complete.

“We’ve refreshed nearly every part of our resort,” Ports of Call Resort owner Dale Papke told Caribbean Journal.

That included everything from new furniture in most guest rooms and common spaces, a refreshed fitness center and an expansion of the breakfast room, which serves a daily complimentary breakfast to all guests.

The result is a sleek, colorful redesign that preserves the wonderful feel of the resort while ushering it into a more modern contemporary aesthetic.

The gym has added new machines, including a treadmill and a stationary bike along with a variety of their existing machines and free weights.

We also love the look at the new poolside bar, which has a new marble bar, fresh stools and stylish new tables. What hasn’t changed? The rum punch at one of the island’s best Happy Hours.

Some other cool touches? Solar heating across the property, and a social media wall in the lobby, which itself got a makeover.

All in all, it took an already-outstanding resort and made it even better, with what remains arguably the best-value hotel in all of Turks and Caicos, and certainly in Grace Bay.

Planning a vacation to Ports of Call? Rates start at $409 per night right now and $289 starting May 1st.
