Royal Caribbean’s New Cruise Push Is Focused on Shorter Getaways, Including Some Two-Night Vacations

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - February 26, 2025 - 11:31 am

Royal Caribbean has some of the world’s biggest cruise ships, with a powerful presence in the Caribbean region and a growing number of private destinations (including one planned in Nassau).

But the cruise line’s newest idea is, well, smaller: a focus on shorter getaways in the Caribbean, giving cruisers more options that include compact itineraries.

They call them “short Caribbean getaways,” and now Royal Caribbean has unveiled a new lineup of smaller vacations for the 2026-2027 season ranging from two to five-night getaways, across 11 different ships.

That includes the company’s Oasis class ships like Utopia and Wonder of the Seas, across all three of its Florida home ports.

So what do you need to know?

The new vacations range from three-night Utopia of the Seas cruises out of Port Canaveral, with stops at the brand’s private CocoCay destination and the new Royal Beach Club on Paradise Island; to two-night trips on Harmony of the Seas out of Orlando that stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Royal Caribbean is launching booking for these new itineraries on Feb. 27, according to the company.

The new roll out of shorter cruises is part of the company’s broader strategy, something that it has also extended to sister brand Celebrity Cruises.

It’s going to be a particular boon for The Bahamas, which is already the region’s top cruise destination and will see an even deeper influx of visitors on these shorter trips.
