The new Secrets.

The opening of Hyatt’s new all-inclusive resort in Saint Lucia was supposed to be last month; but now the Secrets St Lucia has a new launch date, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Secrets St Lucia, the first-ever Secrets resort on the island and the second Hyatt Inclusive Collection property in the destination (the other one is the Zoetry Marigot Bay), is now planning a June debut.

The 355-room resort is now planning a June 1 opening, we have confirmed. The property is now taking bookings for stays beginning on that date. (Of course, it’s may not be the most-anticipated Secrets in the Caribbean this year; that honor would fall unquestionably to the new Secrets Baby Beach in Aruba, opening this summer as well).

So what do you need to know about it?

What a room looks like.

There’s a signature spa, nine eateries, six different bars and a great stretch of sand on Saint Lucia’s Choc Bay.

If you had a reservation and you simply can’t wait, we have some other great options for you.

So what about prices? There’s a special pre-opening rate that has prices of $669 per night for a deluxe tropical view king room. For a swim-out room (and you know how we feel about them), prices start at $837 per night. As we always tell readers, it’s always worth the splurge for the extra degree of comfort, indulgence and luxury. Swim-out is a slam dunk, just about anywhere you stay.

It’s now opening June 1.

There is also a preferred club, something we’ve enjoyed at other Secrets-branded resort in the Caribbean and an elevated room class that always improves the quality of your stay.

If you want an all-inclusive, try the all-inclusive program at the Bay Gardens Beach Resort; it’s set on the best beach on the island and includes a very cool “dine around” program that actually lets you eat out at local restaurants as part of your all-inclusive package. Rooms staring at $475 on an EP plan, according to Google Hotels.

Anse Chastanet is one of our favorites.

If you want an adventure resort, go for Anse Chastanet, the snorkeling capital of Saint Lucia, with a stunning perch in the town of Soufriere and a wonderful old-school Caribbean vibe (and some terrific local food, too). Rooms starting at $820, $1,200 for all-inclusive.

And if you’re looking for the Zoetry Marigot Bay (the former Marigot Bay resort that’s set on a marina within one of the most beautiful bays in the Caribbean), rates start at $878 per night.
