A New All-Inclusive Villa Resort Just Opened in Tulum With Private Infinity Pools, Butler Service and a Pizza Bar
Tulum began life as a quiet beach town. Then the yogis and the Bohemians came, morphing the area into a hip, cool hotspot. In recent years, the trend has been toward big hotel brands like Hilton and Hyatt and bigger resorts, a far cry from the town’s roots.
But the newest resort in Tulum is a bit of a throwback, one that combines its breezy, carefree soul with a nod to two of the biggest trends in travel: all-inclusive and villas.
It’s called TROBBU Tulum, and it’s a collection of 10 boutique villas, all with three bedrooms and 3.5 baths, along with private infinity pools, bars, kitchens, sun loungers and butler service.
You can choose the food and beverage program: self cater with just the villa, or go for the all-inclusive plan that gives you everything from meals to snacks to access to a pizza bar. You can get your food in the villa or in the resort’s common area.

The property’s chef, Alejandro Mendez, created a unique menu for the property, from breakfasts with traditional fare like chilaquiles to signature burgers at night.
The resort also encourages guests to get out and explore Tulum, with your butler able to conjure up the right adventures, whether it’s looking for cenotes or getting into the water.
The plan is for more amenities in the pipeline, a spokesperson for TROBBU told Caribbean Journal. That includes a wellness center, a coffee shop, a store and a gym.

So what about prices? You can find rooms starting at $574 per night, tacking on the $150 per adult all-inclusive fee, which is just $80 for kids and free for young ones under four.
What about getting to Tulum? Last year, the area’s first-ever international airport opened its doors, significantly reducing what had been a nearly two-hour trip from Cancun.
You can find fares on American Airlines for about $368 roundtrip from Miami. United and JetBlue are flying from New York to Tulum right now for $549 and $599 roundtrip, respectively.
