Hyatt Just Opened a New Hotel in Panama With a Sculpture Park and Chocolate Therapy 

Panama is getting hot, with travelers increasingly drawn to the destination’s diverse blend of adventure, beaches and dynamic culture. 

Now, there’s another option in the heart of the country’s Valle de Anton: it’s called Hotel La Compañia del Valle, and it’s a 70-room hotel with some unique amenities, from a sculpture park to an activity center with e-bikes, horseback riding and pickleball. 

It’s the second La Compañia branded hotel, following the debut of the Hotel La Compañia in the Casco Viejo, or old town, of Panama City back in 2022. It’s a neighborhood we loved on our last visit, a rich, fascinating historic quarter with cool boutique hotels, art galleries and cafes.

It’s also part of Hyatt’s Unbound Collection. 

In May, the resort will be debuting its massive 18,000-square-foot spa called Elysium, which will have wine therapy, chocolate therapy, Roman baths and a pool. 

There are three dining concepts, led by executive chef Patrice Jaumon, a veteran of Michelin-starred kitchens across Europe and North Africa. He helped steward the kitchen at the first La Compañia hotel. For now, there’s an eatery called Tiempo; next month two more will open: the “charcoal restaurant” called Fuego and the Mediterranean eatery called Terra. 

So what about prices? Very appealing, with rooms in March starting as low as $288 for a one-bedroom king room with 375 square feet of space.
