Nassau’s Airport Keeps Seeing Strong Growth

By: Alexander Britell and Guy Britton - February 13, 2025

It was another very strong year for Nassau’s Lynden Pindling International Airport, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The Bahamas’ main air hub totaled 3 million departure seats in 2024, a 7 percent jump over the previous year.

Nassau was served by a total of 22 different airlines, led by national flag carrier Bahamasair, which accounted for about 22 percent of all of the airport’s capacity. American Airlines was second, with 18 percent share, followed by JetBlue at 14 percent of the market.

What were the country’s top source cities? Fort Lauderdale and Miami, with about 30.3 percent combined, followed by New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport.

The data was shared during this week’s Routes Americas conference, the hemisphere’s top aviation conference, which was hosted by Nassau & Paradise Island at the Atlantis resort.

The Bahamas saw record-breaking arrivals last year, with new highs for both stayover and cruise passengers.
