Marriott and Playa Just Opened Their New All-Inclusive Resort in Mexico
Marriott has officially opened its newest all-inclusive in the Caribbean: the Paraiso de la Bonita resort in the Riviera Maya of Mexico, in a collaboration with all-inclusive company Playa Hotels and Resorts.
The new resort is an adults-only hotel, part of the company’s Luxury Collection.
It’s a collaboration between Playa Hotels and Resorts and Marriott International, and one of four new all-inclusive Marriott resorts opening this year, including a highly-anticipated W-branded resort.
It’s also the second Luxury Collection all-inclusive to open in the last few months, joined by the highly-rated new Almare resort on the Mexican Caribbean island of Isla Mujeres.

The new Paraiso is a transformation of a property that had already been one of the most acclaimed resorts on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, now with Marriott and Playa behind it.
“Following the initial success of our first collaboration with Marriott International, we are excited to bring another exceptional property to life with Paraiso de la Bonita. This resort embodies the same level of style and sophistication that has made our partnership with Marriott and Playa’s commitment to delivering unparalleled hospitality a benchmark for luxury all-inclusive experiences worldwide,” said Fernando Mulet, EVP and chief investment officer of Playa.
The 100-suite hotel (all of the suites are oceanfront) has a 22,000-square-foot Thalasso Spa, a range of international eateries (along with an authentic Mexican eatery called K’uhul) and bespoke experiences ranging from boat trips to scuba diving.

“We are proud to expand our collaboration with Playa Hotels & Resorts with the opening of Paraiso de la Bonita. This resort will continue to deliver on The Luxury Collection promise of providing access to the most fascinating and sought-after locations on earth while offering unparalleled amenities and service that discerning global explorers have come to expect from our brand,” added Brian King, President of Marriott International for the Caribbean and Latin America. “We hope travelers around the globe join us in celebrating the grand opening of this extraordinary retreat and discover a world where elegance and exclusivity come together to create unforgettable memories.”

That gets you an ocean-view king room. For a premium luxury suite with a private plunge pool, the rate goes up to about $762 per night.
What about getting there? You can fly to Cancun, with the trip taking just under 30 minutes from Cancun International Airport. Here are some options at Google Flights, including $425 roundtrip on Delta from New York.
