It was a very strong year for tourism in the British Virgin Islands, with a sizzling 16.7 percent growth rate in arrivals in 2024, according to new data provided to Caribbean Journal.
The archipelago reported 305,876 overnight visitors last year, its strongest year since before the pandemic.
That included a very strong first half that saw a 25.2 percent jump in stayover guests.
The news comes as the BVI is set to see several new hotel additions this year, including the grand opening of the reimagined Peter Island Resort and the expansion of the Bitter End Yacht Club, which is adding another 12 new rooms, including four beach bungalows and eight “Marina lofts.”
Another long-shuttered hotel, the Biras Creek, is also targeting a return with its 18 rooms in Virgin Gorda.
