Wyndham is opening a new hotel in the heart of the Dominican Republic’s capital.

The new Wyndham Grand Santo Domingo is opening in the summer of 2026, the company announced during the recent FITUR conference in Spain.

The 238-room hotel will be set in the increasingly popular Piantini area, where Marriott just opened two new hotels.

Prices will start at about $500, a very high rate for the capital — but a sign of Santo Domingo’s continued growth as a tourism destination.

It will be focused on both business and leisure travel, according to Gabriel Salom, CEO of Operadora Hotelera Dominicana, which operates Wyndham hotels in the country.

The property will join the existing Gran Hotel Europa in Santo Domingo, which is part of Wyndham’s Trademark Collection.
