Delta Air Lines Is Adding Two New Nonstop Flights to Mexico, Including an Easier Way to Get to San Miguel de Allende
The Delta Air Lines-Aeromexico alliance is adding a pair of new nonstop routes to Mexico, Caribbean Journal has learned.
Beginning June 5, Aeromexico will be launching a new route between Philadelphia and Mexico City, with daily flights on Boeing 737 aircraft.
Also that day, Aeromexico is launching new flights between Atlanta and San Luis Potosí. The latter is an increasingly popular spot in central Mexico; it’s also about a two-hour drive from one of the country’s most beloved getaways, the city of San Miguel de Allende, a place that is, well, not particularly easy to get to directly from the US.

It’s a two-hour drive from San Luis Potosí to San Miguel de Allende. All told, that means it’s a quicker trip than flying first to Mexico City and then connecting in Mexico to Querétaro and driving over an hour to San Miguel.
The San Luis Potosí service is being operated on Embraer 190 aircraft.
Thanks to the joint cooperation agreement between the airlines, you can book trips with either Delta Air Lines or Aeromexico.
So what about prices?
Philly-Mexico City flights are starting at $568 roundtrip in basic, starting in June.
The Atlanta-San Luis Potosi flight runs about $510 roundtrip in Delta’s basic fare.
