Hilton Is Opening a New All-Inclusive in This Uncrowded Dominican Republic Beach Destination
It’s not quite like any other destination in the Dominican Republic: Miches, the secluded, pristine spot on the Bay of Samana that’s quietly become the country’s hottest hotel development haven.
In recent years, more and more brands have had their eyes on Miches, from Club Med to Marriott (which actually just opened its first resort there) to Four Seasons, which has a residential resort in the works called Tropicalia. (Hyatt itself has two resorts opening this year on Miches’ Playa Esmeralda.)
But for now, Miches remains a deliciously uncrowded place where the rainforest meets the sand – and it’s about to welcome another new resort: the Zemi Miches All-Inclusive Resort, which will be part of Hilton’s Curio Collection and is planning a summer debut. (The resort had been planning to open in March).
The 500-room retreat will have everything from a water park to a juice bar. But what it also has is an opening date: June 30.

The property, which will have nearly a dozen food and beverage concepts, along with a tennis club and a kids club, is now officially taking bookings.
The new family-friendly resort is “more than a place to vacation, it’s an immersive experience in Dominican culture that will come to life through gastronomy, programming and the surroundings,” general manager Manuela Fahringer tells Caribbean Journal.

So what about prices?
You can book intro-rate rooms starting at $395 per night; for a plunge pool room with a “tropical view,” prices go to $432. The latter is, in our opinion, an extremely good rate, particularly for an amenity we always recommend readers splurge for.
So what about actually getting to Miches?
The best way is to fly to Punta Cana and either rent a car or arrange transfer with the hotel. The drive is about an hour and a half, but the reason it takes a while is the same as the reason it’s so beautiful there — the emphasis in Miches is on natural beauty, not infrastructure.
