He’s one of the Caribbean’s biggest music stars: Machel Montano, the Trinidadian artist who is arguably the biggest soca star in the world.
And now Montano has made his way to one of the hottest “stages” in the music world right now: NPR’s “Tiny Desk.”
The popular digital concert series takes global music sensations and has them perform at a, well, small desk inside the NPR studios.
But until now, no soca artist had ever graced the desk.
Montano came to the NPR studios after his most recent show, a major performance at St Croix’s legendary Crucian Christmas festival.
