Delta Just Started New Flights to Two Caribbean Islands: Aruba and St Maarten
The sugar-white-sand beaches in Aruba. The endless beach bars in St Martin and St Maarten. Two bucket list destinations, two Caribbean islands, two brand-new routes for Delta Air Lines.
The fast-growing carrier has officially added new routes to Aruba and St Maarten, both out of an increasingly important source market for the Caribbean: Minneapolis-St Paul, a Midwestern city where, not surprisingly, Caribbean beaches are rather compelling in the winter.
The new Aruba service, which just kicked off at the end of last month, is running twice each week, with nonstop flights on Fridays and Sundays.
Minneapolis-St Maarten flights, which are also now running, will be available on Thursdays and Saturdays, according to Delta.

Delta has also ramped up its service to both Grand Cayman and Puerto Rico’s capital of San Juan.
So what about prices? You can find fares from Minneapolis to Aruba on Delta for $464 roundtrip right now, according to Google Flights.
It’s a bit more expensive for the St Maarten service, which is bookable for $587 roundtrip on Delta right now.
Are you planning getaways to Aruba or St Maarten?

If it’s Aruba, you’ll have new choices: the island just welcomed a brand-new Iberostar resort called Joia (rooms from $393) and will imminently welcome its first-ever St. Regis resort, the latter from the same development team behind the Ritz-Carlton in Aruba.
In St Maarten, you can find a wonderful selection of smaller, more intimate hotels, including new places to stay like The Forest, which just opened its doors (rooms from $222).

Soon, the popular Grand Case Beach Club, long one of our favorite Caribbean hotels, will be debuting its sparkling new rooftop pool and bar, an exciting addition to what was already a marvelous resort.
But the island’s biggest story is always its food, particularly on the French side, home to what we believe is the largest concentration of high-level restaurants anywhere in the Caribbean, centered on in the charming fishing town of Grand Case — and a host of lovely local spots in an around Philipsburg.
