The rainforests. The volcanoes. The luxury hotels. The pura vida. Costa Rica’s popularity has only been growing in recent years (with the hotel pipeline to match) and now it’s about to get a major new route out of the Miami market, Caribbean Journal has learned.

Colombian carrier Avianca, which has been steadily expanding its network around the Caribbean Basin, is launching new Miami-San Jose flights beginning March 30.

The carrier is already taking bookings for the service, which will be operating daily. That means about 2,250 seats every week between Miami and Costa Rica. Avianca is operating the flights on Airbus A320 aircraft.

So what about prices?

You can book roundtrip airfare from Miami to San Jose for as low as $297.73, although that is in Avianca’s basic class which only includes a carry on.

While San Jose has long been a gateway for getting to Costa Rica’s naturally beautiful jungle and beach destinations, the city is starting to come into its own; that includes the recent debut of the exciting new Hyatt Centric San Jose Escazu.
