This New All-Inclusive in Curacao Is An Adults-Only Resort With Toes-in-the-Sand Rooms

By: Alexander Britell - January 7, 2025

Open your door, walk right into the sand. Sounds like a pretty straightforward concept in the Caribbean, right? Well, traditional toes-in-the-sand rooms are not quite as easy to find in the region as you might think. At most resorts, even the nicest room categories still involve some degree of stroll to the beach.

But the rooms at the newest all-inclusive resort concept in Curacao aren’t just on the beach — they’re not quite like any other hotel rooms in the Caribbean.

Hyatt has debuted its new adults-only Preferred Club at the Dreams Curacao Resort, a resort-within-a-resort where you can find 52 modular, ultra-modern bungalows perched right on the sand.

It’s called Il Mare, and it’s an adults-only experience, something the Dreams brand (and its sister Secrets brand) does very well — with elevated amenities, upgraded room touches and exclusive food and beverage options. Whatever you want to call it — resort-within-a-resort, preferred club, elevated room category, it’s ver much its own experience at the hotel. We’ve been excited about the new Il Mare for quite awhile.

Il Mare’s rooms are set right near the sea on Curacao’s Piscadera Bay, with private patios, almost 400 square feet of space and butler service. Guests in these rooms also get access to an exclusive infinity pool, a restaurant called Battelino and a special pool bar.

It’s a “one-of-a-kind” concept, according to the resort’s general manager, Thomas van Balveren. And it really is its own place to stay – albeit within a short stroll of the rest of the hotel.

It’s part of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection, which also has the Zoetry Curacao right near the hotel, whose amenities Il Mare guests also have access to.

Curacao has been quietly developing an enviable group of all-inclusive resorts under a variety of brands, from the popular Sandals Royal Curacao to Hilton’s Rif resort, which opened at the end of 2023. But it’s also an all-inclusive destination that begs you to get out and explore the island’s many charms, from its lovely capital, Willemstad, to its plethora of world-class beaches.

So what about prices? If you want to book a room at Il Mare, you can find rates for $871 per night, according to to Hyatt’s website. That’s for travel in mid-January.

In March, that price goes up to about $956 per night.
