Delta’s Newest Caribbean Nonstop Flight Is to the Island of Barbados
Delta just added another new Caribbean flight, with a freshly-launched route between New York and the island of Barbados, Caribbean Journal has learned.
The new service is operating once every week on Saturdays.
The flight complements existing daily service to Barbados from Delta’s hub in Atlanta.
The new route buoys Barbados’ longstanding efforts to draw more travelers from the United States, according to Tourism Minister Ian Gooding-Edghill.
The extra service to Barbados on Delta will mean almost 20,000 new seats to the island for the peak season.
So what about price?
The just-under-five-hour flight will cost you about $315 roundtrip, according to Google Flights.
That’s a very good fare, part of what seems to be a trend of lower airfare to the Caribbean this season, particularly out of the New York market.
