Kimpton’s Roatan Resort Has a New Executive Chef

By: Caribbean Journal Staff - December 26, 2024

Kimpton’s new resort in Roatan has a new executive chef, Caribbean Journal has learned.

The Kimpton Grand Roatan, which opened last year on the popular island off the Caribbean coast of Honduras, has named Guido Ojeda to the role.

Ojeda will be overseeing the four dining concepts at the resort: the farm-to-table Alera; the casual Vos Cafe and Bar; the oceanfront beach hotspot called Sea Cat; and a wood-fired eatery called The Drop Off.

A native of Argentina, Ojeda worked most recently the Edition Hotel in Iceland.

He says he’s looking forward to “immersing” himself in the island’s culinary scene and “drawing inspiration from local ingredients and traditions to create innovative dishes that showcase Roatán’s unique flavors.”

Kimpton has been steadily growing its Caribbean footprint over the last few years, with new resorts in Roatan, Tulum and Santo Domingo, along with another property set to open in the Riviera Maya next year: the brand’s first-ever all-inclusive resort.

Looking to stay at the Kimpton Roatan? Prices start at about $545 per night right now.
